The Limestone County 911 Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of E-911 Deputy Director. This position reports to the Athens-Limestone County 911 Director and is responsible for the coordination of all Emergency Management Communications 911 services, including law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services, and directing radio communications activities, providing 911 dispatching services, and related emergency communications. Oversees and assists with operation of all 911 Systems and components to include Information Technology Management. Assists the Director with developing and implementing operational polices and procedures, organizational goals and objectives; and ensuring operating and capital budgets are maintained for the department.
A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Telecommunications or closely related field supplemented by three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes progressively responsible management of a multi-agency public safety organization is required. Must possess or able to obtain NENA Emergency Number Professional Certification. Candidates must also possess the following; (1) a valid driver's license, (2) a strong working knowledge of computer information systems to include related hardware, software and networking and (3) a strong working knowledge of GIS/Mapping.
Salary is negotiable starting at $40,000 depending upon qualifications. Limestone County 911 offers employees an excellent benefit package, which includes health, prescription drug plan and supplemental coverage is also available through a flex benefits program at a low cost to employees. Pension is funded through a defined benefit plan and deferred compensation is offered. A tuition reimbursement plan may be available.
